Loch Style Eliminator 2008 Results

The Peninsula Federation England Loch Style fly-
The practice sessions were producing large numbers of quality full finned trout and the expectations for the competition was high. Bristol Waters management of this beautiful lake did not disappoint, the quality of the fishing here has to be experienced.
Most anglers headed for the top end where the fish were feeding heavily on the large buzzers present at this time of year. The first angler Tony Chipman, caught his maximum of 8 fish in two hours; he then had to wait six hours to see if he had qualified. As the day progressed more and more anglers caught their eight fish, adding to the insecurity we anglers all suffer from.
At 6pm the competition finished and the tension for the anglers intensified. The match produced some amazing statistics with 26 anglers catching 166 giving a rod average of 6.4 fish per angler. The best fish a magnificent Rainbow of 3lbs 9ozs caught by Cornish angler David Johnson, this was one of eight fish over 3lbs.
The top angler, winning prizes donated by Snowbee UK Ltd and the perpetual trophy was Exeter angler Steve Ebdon; cheers greeted this hugely popular result.
